Bamboo Blinds: The Traditional Way of Decorating
The use of bamboo blinds is a sophisticated way to decorate homes. Bamboo blinds are both classy and traditional, perfect for decorating both modern and tradition-inspired houses!
The tubular body of a bamboo takes its shape and from through weaving, braiding, even through following natural patterns such as the design of tortoise’s hard shell. A bamboo shade is a unique design statement in its own right, enhancing the overall design or art dynamics of the house it is installed into.
By tradition, bamboo blinds are made from parallel bamboo sticks, which are fondly referred to as matchsticks.
The matchsticks are woven in parallel, to create diverse patterns and styles. In addition to the bamboo, other materials such as linen and other fabric linings are added into the shade, providing both enhanced appearance and more privacy at the same time.
The unique nature of bamboo blinds in allowing portions of sun rays to pass through its narrow linings can either be suppressed by adding fabric linings to block light, or enhanced by carving out patterns alongside the linings. Either ways, a bamboo shade can certainly bring out the best of every corner of the house where it is attached into.
Bamboo shades can be made at home – all that a household would need are a couple of bamboo matchsticks, rope, and an artistic hand. However, for those not so artistic households, bamboo blinds are widely available for purchase: in hardware shops, in décor shops, in home improvement departments of super malls, and even in eBay and Amazon! Just remember one thing when ordering or buying one: have a clear picture of what effect you want to achieve.
Given below is a short list of the things which you need to consider when making a bamboo blinds purchase. You might find them helpful during your shopping!
1. Be sure to buy only from suppliers that integrates the most important features of a shade into the product, that is, the bamboo shade that they are selling is not only decorative in nature, it should also be functional.
2. Look for the special feature of the bamboo blinds system you are buying. Some bamboo blinds systems has motorized smooth lifting mechanism already integrated into it. This feature makes the folding and the spreading of the bamboo shades easier. However, it may cost you more too! So always try to balance between cost and feature.
3. Make sure you already know where you want to install the bamboo blinds. This is very important because the overall design of the shade will be dependent on which area it is placed. For example, if it is intended to be placed in a bedroom, then complete light blockage would be required, however, if it is intended for use in the porch, of course, modicum light blockage is needed and the design and art value of the shade would matter more.
